Michael is a Latino-Jewish director and writer from Los Angeles. His childhood love for horror lead him to a career building haunted houses and working at Universal's Halloween Horror Nights before graduating as a directing fellow at the AFI Conservatory.

 

Michael's short film, "Magdalena", won the UFVF/ KODAK Gold Grant Award for outstanding filmmaking, was selected as one of twelve filmmakers for the 7th annual CAA Moebius showcase, won the 2022 Golden Tadpole at EnergaCamerimage, and was shortlisted for the 2023 Yugo BAFTA student awards. The film was recently acquired by Cinedigm to be featured on their horror platform, Bloody Disgusting.  Michael's short film, "STALLED", won the 2023 Jack Larson Southern California Filmmaker Award and is currently streaming on the PBS app. 

Michael is the creative director for the "WEAPONIZED" podcast with filmmaker Jeremy Corbell and investigative journalist George Knapp  (was the top science podcast on Spotify during its run). The podcast is currently being developed into a series.
