Michael Lazovsky

Michael Lazovsky is a Latino-Jewish filmmaker from Los Angeles and a directing graduate of the American Film Institute Conservatory.
His horror short Juliette Wasn't Invited Tonight premiered at Screamfest and went viral across multiple social media platforms.
Michael’s AFI thesis film Magdalena won the UFVF/KODAK Gold Grant Award for Outstanding Filmmaking, was selected as one of twelve films for the 7th Annual CAA Moebius Showcase, earned the 2022 Golden Tadpole at EnergaCamerimage, and was shortlisted for the 2023 Yugo BAFTA Student Awards. The film was recently acquired by Cinedigm to stream on Bloody Disgusting, their premier horror platform.
His short Stalled won the 2023 Jack Larson Southern California Filmmaker Award and is currently streaming on the PBS app.
Michael also produces the hit podcast WEAPONIZED, hosted by filmmaker Jeremy Corbell and investigative journalist George Knapp — currently one of the top science podcasts on Spotify — which is now being developed into a series.
